Mountain Equipment Co-Op opened in Toronto in 1985 and moved to their current location on King Street in 1998. By purchasing a $5 share you gain a lifelong membership and the ability to purchase from any of their fourteen retails stores, or online. MEC has always had an excellent selection of bike parts, accessories and clothing and in 2009 they added their own line of bicycles.

In 2008, MEC added a bicycle repair shop, download a .PDF of their shop fees for repairs.
