I've been using a running shirt that I've had for many years. Nothing fancy. Certainly not very light. I often looked at lighter shirts but never really felt any of them justified the price. Then I thought I'd try The North Face Better Than Naked shirt. Here's a running shirt that only weighs 4.6 oz/130 grams, a mere featherweight compared to my go-to-running-shirt.  Was that enough to change my mind?

Well I tried it everywhere. Road running, trail running and treadmill running and I'm completely amazed. I will not be going back to my stand-by shirt any more. It wasn't the weight alone that sold me, but rather how it feels when you wear it. It sort of floats on you and just as their moniker says... it's better (and more decent) than naked.

My favourite part of this shirt is the venting. If you hold the garment up to the light, you can see through the entire shirt, but while wearing it, you aren't  "naked" and skin isn't visible. Running with a breeze, wafts through the pores of the shirt and cools you down immediately. It's quite a pleasant feeling, and to top it off, The North Face's FlashDry technology is wicking your sweat and dispersing it to help dry you at the same time. Breathability was not a problem with this shirt.

Seams are stitched flat, so there is no discomfort, especially if you are wearing a hydration pack.

My only minor wish would be for it to have more reflective markings on the back for night running, but otherwise this is now my favourite running shirt.
