2015 Winter Activity Weekend: February 14 - 15
Held each year during the Family Day Weekend, the Winter Activity Day is an excellent opportunity to discover the winter beauty of the Park. Glide along 30km of cross country ski trails or take a guided snowshoe hike. Evening activities include presentations from guest speakers and viewing of the stars from the Park’s observatory.
Saturday
8p.m. - Join Bill Gardner at the Park observatory and view the stars and planets above through the telescope
Sunday
12 - 12:45 p.m. - Join us at the Park Nature Centre for a complimentary B.B.Q. lunch
1:15 - 4.00p.m. - Guided snowshoe interpretive and photography hikes (meet at Nature Centre)
Hike 1 - Join Park Assistant Super Intendent Dave Ward as we investigate the story laid out by the Park's winter wildlife.As animals go about their day, clues are left behind for those who attempt to see them. The hike will take us into Killarney's winter wilderness, as we search for and attempt to read the story left behind by the Park's animals.
