Winter in the Wild Festival

Ontario Parks and The Friends of Algonquin Park are proud to announce Winter in the Wild Festival happening in Algonquin Park on February 14, 2015 (Family Day Weekend). This family event celebrates Algonquin Park in winter.

This festival celebrates winter in Algonquin Park through indoor and outdoor events held at various locations throughout the Highway 60 Corridor of Algonquin Park, including many at the Algonquin Visitor Centre. All of the activities during the Festival are free with the purchase of a Daily Vehicle Permit or Camping Permit (with the exception of food). Events are expected to include guided bird walks, guest speakers, guided snowshoe excursions, skating, skiing, winter camping demonstrations, a special evening event, hearty meals, and campfire at Mew Lake Campground. A full event schedule is expected in late fall/early winter. Check back for details or click "Event Reminder" to be sent email or text message updates. 

First-come, first-served camping (some campsites with electricity) are available at Mew Lake Campgroundwith overflow camping available at Lake of Two Rivers Campground if necessary. Heated bathroom facilities are available at Mew Lake Campground for all campers. Yurts are also reservable during the Festival. Roofed accommodation, in a wide variety of forms, is also available outside Algonquin Park.
