The 2021 Paddle In The Park Contest Has Been Cancelled
Sadly, the 2021 Paddle In The Park Contest has been cancelled. One of the organizers, Preston Ciere has recently suffered a health scare and currently recuperating…
Thus, we wholeheartedly regret to inform you that the Paddle in the Park Contest event we were planning for this summer has been cancelled. We made the difficult decision to cancel knowing that without Preston, our key figure, it would be impossible to continue.
We understand that this change may cause great inconvenience for some of you and are sincerely sorry. Please know we cannot thank you enough for your interest and support for this long-running advocacy campaign.
Should you have questions, please feel free to contact our team though our various social media pages.
If you would like to know more detail about Preston’s current situation, or would like to wish him well, please know he just recently wrote about his experience in an informative Facebook post. You can find his important (and alarming) story here: https://tiny.cc/PrestonCiere or you may contact him here: https://m.facebook.com/portageur.ca
However, please be aware he is limiting his screen time at the moment as per his doctor’s orders, so may not be able to respond.
We thank you in advance for your patience during this time of high communications volume with our team. We obviously wish things were different and do not know what the future will bring. But in the meantime, we do hope you will join us in wishing Preston all the best in his recovery going forward.
And just before we sign off, we are sure Preston would want us to remind you. While there may not be any hidden paddles or prizes directly associated with your adventures this year, there will always be countless rewards to be found “Out There”!
We wish Preston the speediest of recoveries and look forward to the contest returning next year.
