Ontario NDP Looking to Increase the Number of Cyclists and their Safety
The Globe and Mail reports that the Ontario NDP announced today their new campaign pledge which included looking out for cyclist safety...
"Drivers would be required to leave a buffer zone of three feet when passing cyclists on city streets...
Requiring drivers to leave one meter between bikes and motor vehicles would encourage commuters who now fear riding in the open road to start cycling instead of driving to work, helping to ease traffic congestion and improve air quality."
Similar laws already exist in Nova Scotia.
