The City of Kitchener has a cycling infrastructure in place (including a Master Plan), and just this week announced that they have opened a secure bicycle parking facility. As part of the parking garage at the corner of Charles and Benton streets, this facility can hold 40-60 bicycles.
“Secure bicycle parking facilities are a key ingredient in encouraging people to cycle more,” said Josh Joseph, the city’s transportation demand management coordinator. “They also provide a high level of security to users, as well as protection from inclement weather.”
