The best selling book, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed was made into a movie starring Reese Witherspoon. Starting today, it is now available for rent on iTunes or you can purchase the DVDBlu-Ray or iTunes digital download.

I think this is one of the few times I actually enjoyed the movie better than the book (Read our review of the book) as while the primary focus is still on stories from her life, in the movie an equal amount of screen time is given to her actual hike on the PCT. Sure, a few things are in a different order in the movie, and a few key points in the book didn't have the same impact on screen, but overall it was very entertaining to watch (and even received a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes!).

Fun fact: The director would not let Witherspoon read the instruction manual to the tent, or the stove. All of the frustration showed on screen was genuine.
