Bid On These Cool Artistic Paddles
Algonquin Outfitters held a fun contest this Summer to celebrate Tom Thomson’s 100th Anniversary of his death in Algonquin Park (1917-2017), the 150th anniversary of Canada (1867-2017) and Algonquin Outfitters 55th anniversary (1961-2016). They tasked you to make a piece of art out of one of these paddle blanks...
That aspect of the contest has closed and now the fun begins as you can bid on over 200 submitted paddles that are skillfully crafted.
The artists that receive the highest bids will win some great prizes and all proceeds from the auction go to support art in local communities through Oxtongue Lake for Arts and Culture and the Town of Huntsville’s reserved fund for future public art acquisition.
You can also see the paddles in person by attending the live event at the Algonquin Theatre on Friday, September 29, 2017 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
