Garmin Services Are Down Following Ransomware Attack *Updated*

Update: July 27th - Garmin has restored their services and issued an update

We have no indication that any customer data, including payment information from Garmin Pay, was accessed, lost or stolen. Additionally, the functionality of Garmin products was not affected, other than the ability to access online services. Affected systems are being restored and we expect to return to normal operation over the next few days.

As our affected systems are restored, we expect some delays as the backlog of information is being processed. We are grateful for our customers’ patience and understanding during this incident and look forward to continuing to provide the exceptional customer service and support that has been our hallmark and tradition.

inReach SOS and messaging remained fully functional and were not impacted by the outage. This includes the MapShare website and e-mail reply page. The status for inReach can be found here.

Garmin has had to shut down several of their services in order to deal with a ransomwear attack.

We are currently experiencing an outage that affects Garmin inReach and Explore, and as a result, inReach billing (credit card editing, service plan changes, and new service activation) is unavailable. However, inReach messaging (text, email and SOS) is fully functional. This outage also affects our call centers, and we are currently unable to receive any calls, emails or online chats. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and apologize for this inconvenience.
