Check Out This Tent With A View
Camper Daniel Pike shared an image of his 30 year old Eureka! Alpine Meadows 3 person tent that had a pretty neat conversion. While the tent is no longer manufactured and not a four season tent, Daniel converted it to winter use by cutting out the floor, adding stove jacks, and most interestingly… making the vinyl see-through door.
He purchased some vinyl from a local Home Hardware store, and attached it with Velcro. Since taking the photos also added a zipped door to it to make entry and exit easier. He mentions that it gets stiffer in cold weather but hasn't cracked yet.
“I roll it into a tube for transport. It’s actually quite easy to work with. Easy to sew.”
Marie Gillan mentioned as a follow-up that Fabricland carries -20C clear vinyl in several thicknesses if you are interested in a project like this.
