B.C. Parks Looking For Feedback On Joffre Lakes Provincial Park
B.C. Parks is asking for feedback on how to manage the overcrowding at Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. One of the more popular parks in the province (and a 222% increase in visitors since 2010), the number of visitors leads to vehicles parked along the edge of the highway resulting in many dangerous situations. The new visitors also trample vegetation and leave garbage in the area, diminishing the park’s pristine look.
B.C. Parks increased the size of the parking lot, and set up a backcountry camping reservation system, but the problem still remains.
You have until April 4th, 2021 to submit feedback.
