Alberta Parks Launches New Camping Reservation System In Time For 2024 Season
Alberta Parks has announced that it has moved the camping reservation system from the old site reserve.alberta.parks.ca, to the new one shop.albertaparks.ca while kicking off the 2024 camping season. The new site is a clean start for your camping history so don’t forget to log in before February 18th to create a new account, update your info and to transfer over your favourite sites. Reservation fees remain the same for 2024 and here are the new launch dates for this year…
Backcountry Camping reservations: February 20 at 9:00 a.m. MST
Comfort Camping reservations: February 22 at 9:00 a.m. MST
Individual Campsites reservations: February 26 at 9:00 a.m. MST
Group Camping reservations: February 28 at 9:00 a.m. MST
New this year, check out the “Camping This Weekend" feature on Shop.AlbertaParks.ca which will present last-minute campsites available to book for the coming weekend. You can also now create favourites and personal trip planning lists to keep track of camp sites.
To help plan entire backcountry camping trips in one transaction, backcountry campgrounds have been grouped into permit areas that are the most likely and popular backcountry trips.
New permit area groupings:
Bow Valley Wildland Area: Jewell Bay and Quaite Valley.
East Kananaskis Area: Big Elbow, Big Elbow Equestrian, Elbow Lake, Mount Romulus, Mount Romulus Equestrian, Tombstone and Tombstone Equestrian.
Kananaskis Valley Area: Lillian Lake, Ribbon Falls and Ribbon Lake.
Upper Kananaskis Lake Area: Aster Lake, Forks, Point, Three Isle Lake and Turbine Canyon.
Spray Valley Area: Rummel Lake winter backcountry camping.
