AllTrails Version 19.8 Adds Better Apple Watch Support

Trail discovery app AllTrails just updated to version 19.8 and with it they added better Apple Watch support. I must say that it integrates far better with the AllTrails iOS app than previous generations.

It’s seems easiest to find your local trail on the iOS app itself, followed by starting your hike either through the app or on your watch. It was nice to see that AllTrails also utilizes the Dynamic Island during your hikes, constantly updating as you go.

Two small gripes I have though is that the map isn’t viewable on the watch itself (in case you only wanted to navigate without pulling out your phone each time), and that it paused my hike half way through and I didn’t even notice until I almost completed the trail. I could have inadvertently triggered it, but it still seemed odd. This is my first hike with the new version of the app, so I’ll have to try it a few more times before I can tell if it is a bug or not. Any other Apple Watch users try this version yet? Happy to hear your thoughts.
