Camping Tip: Food Barrel Locking Pin
After watching Chris Prouse’s video on a bear encounter, Kirsten Graham-May was looking for something to help secure the ring on her food barrel.
“I already hang my barrel and, while I am well aware that barrels are not bear-proof, I was not aware how easily they could open the ring sealing them closed 😳. Chris and Julia used a key ring but I was looking for something a little less finicky and I found just the ticket at my local hardware store: Round Quick Pins! They take a fair bit of dexterity to open and — added bonus — you can attach the pin to the barrel handle so it doesn’t go missing at your campsite 😉 You’re welcome!”
