Parks Canada Is Offering Free Canoeing Lessons On The Rideau & Lachine Canals

Parks Canada is offering a free 90 minute canoeing lesson on the Rideau Canal and Lachine Canal as part of their Learn-to Paddle program.

Our experienced paddle team will introduce visitors to the techniques of paddling on the Rideau Canal, then give everyone a chance to get into a canoe along trained staff and practice their skills in a safe environment. It's a fun way to meet new people and discover a great outdoor activity.

Parks Canada will supply the PFD and a small waterproof bag to store your personal items and you will learn basic canoe techniques, how to control a canoe in calm waters and safety rules.
