New MEC Location Opening In Whitby This July
Update: June 29th - The grand opening will be this month July 26th to 28th (2024) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The first 50 visitors each day get a tote with outdoor goodies, there will be special in-store deals on gear and a chance to win a $1000 MEC gift card.
Mountain Equipment Company is about to open its seventh location in Ontario, with a brand new store at 1 - 1650 Victoria Street East in Whitby. This will be MEC’s 23rd standalone location across Canada and will open July 2024.

MEC stands as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts drawing local community to the area for events as well as gear. We’re thrilled to be announcing our latest store opening here in July.”
The new 20,000 sqft. retail space will feature a well curated assortment of top name outdoor brands along with a calendar of community events and clinics to support activities from camping, hiking, paddling, and climbing to cycling and snow sports. There will be a designated bike mechanic area and the store will be paired with expert staff offering advice and knowledge on both gear and activities.
The retailer is currently recruiting for a variety of positions at the new store including a dynamic and experienced General Manager.
