Come Fill The Peterborough Lift Lock On National Canoe Day
This National Canoe Day (June 26th, 2016 at 1 p.m.) the Canadian Canoe Museum, Parks Canada and The Land invite you (and your canoe) to head to the Peterborough Lift Lock. There will be free lockage for everyone participating (even nearby locks if you're paddling your way to the lift lock) but please bring a canned food item to support the local community. Here are your put-in locations (more experienced paddlers should put in further away to let less experienced paddlers access it from the Visitors Centre)...
- Beavermead Campground - 2011 Ashburnham Drive, Peterborough - 5 Minute Paddle to Lock 20
- Rogers Cove - 131 Maria Street, Peterborough - 5 Minute Paddle to Lock 20

Don't forget the following...
- Personal Floatation Device worn by each paddler.
- Sound signalling device, buoyant heaving line, and bailer for each boat.
- Due to safety concerns stand up paddle boards will not be permitted.
- By participating in this event you agree to be photographed and/or filmed.
Hope to see you there!
