Watch: Canoe Poling Practice and Play
Stephen Coutts, who gave an excellent presentation on canoe poling at the 2018 Ontario Backcountry Canoe Symposium) has released a new video on how to use a pole while canoeing.
This short video highlights some of the things one can actually do with a twelve foot stick, standing in a canoe. (Not that anyone would want to in one case.)
More importantly, I explain why I am doing them in my practice session.
(As a matter of interest, I have also succeeded in ascending the last stretch of rapids that you see at the end of the video… but not that day!)
As always, please leave a comment on my “Canoepoler” YouTube channel about anything that strikes you about this. As well, check out my other videos, all of which have been produced for one reason… to convince you to learn to pole your canoe.
It is so useful and even more fun!!!!
