Grand Opening Of MEC Vancouver's New Flagship Store Is April 4th & 5th

Mountain Equipment Co-Op is about to celebrate the grand opening of their brand new flagship store in Vancouver. Located at 111 East 2nd Avenue (at Quebec Street) in Olympic Village they will “bid a fond farewell to the Broadway store that served MEC for 25 years”…

Vancouver is where Mountain Equipment Co-op started. Over the last few decades, the Co-op has had a few homes in this city – a VW van, room 14C in the Student Union Building at UBC, the Dominion Building, Kitsilano, Cambie, Broadway. We’ve grown from six founding members in BC to millions of members across Canada, and now it’s time to take the next step in the place where it all began.

The new green building (which will have quite a few nods to their history such as a VW van is parked inside the store!) will have a grand opening on April 4th and 5th, 2020. Check out the opening weekend schedule which includes a run, a hike, chats, workshops, clinics, guest speakers and more!
